Summary

Fear and anxiety are powerful emotions that can hold us back from realizing our true potential. They can paralyze us, making even the simplest decisions seem insurmountable. However, by implementing key strategies, we can learn to overcome fear and anxiety and lead lives marked by courage, growth, and success. Here are 3 shifts you should make if you want to overcome fear and anxiety:

1. Don't Think About It, Face It
The first step towards overcoming fear is to stop avoiding it. It's natural to want to push fear away, to pretend it doesn't exist. Yet, avoidance only reinforces the power of fear. Instead of ruminating or spiraling, confront your fear head-on. Avoidance feeds the cycle of anxiety, while facing fear breaks it. Write down the worst-case scenario that your mind conjures. Often, you'll find that acknowledging these fears dissipates their intensity. Our breakthroughs often lie in staring our fears directly in the face. By confronting what we fear, we weaken its grip on us.

2. Give Fear No Place in Decision Making
Fear is not a reliable compass for decision-making. While it's a natural instinct to protect us from danger, it can exaggerate the impact of negative consequences, making minor issues feel catastrophic. We must acknowledge that fear isn't a guide but a safety tool. To overcome its influence, make decisions based on prayer, logic, and love rather than fear. Consider the potential outcomes with a clear mind. Understand that the power to make sound decisions lies in recognizing fear's limitations and choosing to move forward despite it.

3. Decide to be a Role Model in Living a Fearless Life
Embracing a fearless life requires a shift in mindset. Decide to be the person who raises the bar, thinks bigger, and acts without hesitation. Being a role model in fearlessness doesn't mean never experiencing fear; rather, it's about not letting fear dictate your actions. Get comfortable with starting and improving significant endeavors, regardless of the initial trepidation. By showing that you can take on challenges with courage, you inspire others to do the same.
Courage is contagious; when you step forward boldly, you encourage those around you to do the same. Be the example of someone who isn't held back by fear and anxiety. Push yourself to think bigger and act with confidence. Embrace discomfort as a sign of growth and progress. Remember that every great accomplishment was born from the decision to move forward despite fear.

Overcoming fear and anxiety is a journey that requires intentional effort and a change in perspective. Don't let fear control your decisions or hinder your progress. Confront your fears head-on, acknowledge their presence, and take steps to minimize their influence. Make decisions based on sound reasoning, faith, and love rather than succumbing to fear. Become a role model for living fearlessly, challenging yourself and others to step beyond their comfort zones. As you cultivate courage and face your fears, you'll discover a world of opportunities and growth that were previously hidden by the shadows of anxiety.

what's up my good people this is Joey young if you are struggling to hit your goals right now there's a good chance you're anxious stressed out and or being ruled by fear we're going to talk about how to overcome fear and anxiety so you can get back to crushing your goals

hey leaders you're the lid on your team and your organization you need a proven plan to increase the capacity for performance for yourself and your team and that's the weekly super cycle method overwhelmed anymore download the weekly super psycho method in the link in the description right now all right I've got three shifts you're gonna make to overcome the fear and Stress and Anxiety you're feeling right now and the first is to not think about it but to face it number one don't think about it face it we waste so much time and energy spiraling out of control overthinking over analyzing ruminating on potential upcoming fears this is horrible for our performance and for our mental health so what are we going to do what we're going to do what the Buffaloes do there's an old story where buffaloes if they see a storm coming on the horizon a herd of buffalos will be seen running at and through that storm they do this because they know if they run through the storm they'll actually spend less time over overall in that storm contrast that with cows if I heard of cows sees a storm they'll run away from it of course the storm eventually catch up as it catches up with them and they spend more time in the storm overall so we're gonna do like the Buffaloes do and we're going to look at our fear and we're gonna deal with it that might mean journaling intentionally about your fears and why you think you feel it and what you could do to face it and to overcome it and that might look like actually doing what you say you're gonna do in terms of overcoming that fear and actually taking that first baby step to look it right in the eye and say this is not going to rule my life anymore the key is to not think about it but it is to do something about it the second shift we're going to make is giving fear no place in our decision making we're gonna not allow fear at the table of our decision making and the thing you got to understand about fear is that it's a really good signal like hey there's something that could go wrong here like hey just heads up like watch out for that but fear is a very bad guide fear is not a very good way to make decisions it's just an aspect of understanding what could go wrong and too many people live their life avoiding fear and letting fear guide their decisions when really fear is just a signal to say like hey looks like that could be a potential danger just a heads up you know and and fear is very good at telling us like what potentially could go wrong in the future but fear is very bad at accurately representing the consequences of those bad outcomes for example if you're giving a speech and you're really worried that you might forget what your next point is in your speech fear is very good at telling you like hey you know you might forget what your next thing you're going to say is and you're and you kind of freak out about it and then all of a sudden you start thinking like oh my goodness like what if I completely derail this and everyone hates me and the whole thing comes undone because I forget what my next point is that's that's common but what is really interesting is that fear doesn't actually have a good representation in our mind for what would the consequences be in that situation if you do forget your next point in your presentation most likely you'll pause for a second you might say um you'll look down at your notes you'll remember the next point and you'll keep going so again fear is good at telling you what might go wrong very bad at accurately representing the consequences if that event does take place so you can take comfort in that remember that fear is just a good way of understanding what could go wrong it's a very bad way of understanding the potential consequences if something does go wrong so we're not going to let fear have a place at the table of our decision making all right third shift we're gonna make is we're going to decide to live as a role model of a Fearless life you and I we're going to make a decision here that we're going to engage the accountability side of us the leader side of us the role model side of us and say I am going to help others live a Fearless Life by being an example and this is really powerful because the first two points the shift first two shifts were about ourselves but this side of overcoming our fear and anxiety engages the side of us where we want to help others which is a huge motivational piece like we become a different person when we're accountable when we decide to be a leader there's a shift that takes place on the inside that now says all right I'm not just doing this for myself anymore I'm not just overcoming my fears so I can achieve my goals but I'm overcoming my fears so that other people can achieve theirs and they can see in a good example of someone who's living a life not driven by fear and not full of anxiety but instead someone who has a higher calling they want to mimic someone who is overcoming their fears and who's bringing a decision-making level and a thinking level and an ideas level and an energy to the room that is hey we're not defined by our fears of this organization and this team we're not making decisions based on potential anxiety points we're going to make decisions confidently and step into the things that we're afraid of so that we can get the results we want that's a really powerful feeling so make sure at the end of all this work you do to overcome your fear and anxiety you make a decision to be a role model make actually make the choice to be an example of what it looks like to overcome fear in your day-to-day life and watch yourself accelerate towards those goals and overcome the fear and anxiety so much faster I hope this has been helpful
